How Much Does IPTV Cost in Ireland?
IPTV subscriptions in Ireland usually cost between €7 and €15 a month, and less per month if you pay for 6 or 12 months up front. That is far below most traditional TV packages, but the subscription is not the only cost. This guide breaks down what you really pay, what is included, and how to avoid surprises.
Typical IPTV prices in Ireland (2026)
| Plan length | Typical price range | Our price | Per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 month | €8 – €15 | €7.99 | €7.99 |
| 3 months | €20 – €40 | €24.99 | €8.33 |
| 6 months | €35 – €65 | €44.99 | €7.50 |
| 12 months | €55 – €110 | €74 | €6.17 |
Ranges are based on publicly listed prices of IPTV sellers targeting Ireland and change often. Longer plans almost always work out cheaper per month — our 12-month plan costs about 23% less per month than paying monthly.
What is normally included
A standard IPTV subscription includes:
- Live TV channels – Irish, UK and international channels
- Video on demand (VOD) – a library of films and series
- TV guide (EPG) and, for many channels, catch-up
- Access on several devices – install on TV, phone and tablet
- Support – help with setup and problems
What is usually not included:
- Extra simultaneous connections. Most plans allow one stream at a time; watching on two screens at once usually costs extra.
- The device and app. You need your own Firestick, Smart TV app or box (see below).
The other costs to budget for
1. A device (one-off)
If your TV can’t run an IPTV app, you need a streaming device:
- Fire TV Stick 4K: roughly €40–€70
- Android / Google TV box: roughly €50–€120
- MAG box: roughly €60–€150
Most people buy one device per TV and keep it for years. See what equipment you need.
2. App licence (sometimes)
IPTV Smarters Pro is free. Some players charge a small one-off or yearly fee — for example Smart IPTV, IBO Player or TiviMate Premium usually cost €5–€25 depending on the app and plan.
3. Broadband
IPTV uses your existing internet connection. You need roughly 25 Mbps for Full HD and 50 Mbps for 4K. Most fibre and cable packages in Ireland already exceed this, so there is usually no extra cost — but if you are on a slow rural connection, read IPTV and internet speed first.
4. TV licence
In Ireland you need a TV licence if you have a television set, regardless of how you watch it. The licence currently costs €160 a year (check An Post for the latest fee). It applies whether you use IPTV, Saorview or a satellite service.
IPTV vs. traditional TV packages
| IPTV | Satellite / cable TV packages | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | €6–€15 | Often €30–€100+ depending on channels |
| Contract | None | Usually 12–18 months |
| Set-up fee | None | Often charged, plus equipment |
| Extra rooms | App on another device | Extra box, often with monthly fee |
| Cancelling | Just don’t renew | Notice period / early exit fees |
The saving is real, but remember the trade-off: traditional packages come with guaranteed licensed content, installation and phone support. Before you switch, read is IPTV legal in Ireland?.
Hidden charges and red flags
Watch out for:
- “Lifetime” subscriptions – no service can promise to run forever; these are often scams.
- Very cheap yearly plans (for example under €30 a year) – they tend to be unstable or disappear.
- Payment only by gift cards or crypto – you have no protection if the service stops.
- No refund policy and no way to contact the seller.
- Automatic renewals you didn’t agree to.
With us there are no installation fees and no automatic contracts: you pay for the period you choose, and our refund policy explains your options.
How to pay less
- Start with 1 month to test channels and picture quality on your own devices.
- Switch to 12 months once you are happy – it is the lowest price per month.
- Use a device you already have – many Smart TVs and phones run IPTV apps.
- Cancel paid TV add-ons you no longer use.
Example: total first-year cost
| Item | Cost |
|---|---|
| 12-month subscription | €74 |
| Fire TV Stick 4K (if needed) | ~€50 |
| IPTV app | €0 (IPTV Smarters Pro) |
| Total first year | ~€124 (about €10 a month) |
From the second year you only pay the subscription.
